Information concerning the supplier – UNICOGNAC
One of the most unusual things about UNICOGNAC is the way it is
organized. UNICOGNAC represents several cooperatives who work
together from the time the wines are brought in, up to and
including the sales and marketing phase.

The original parent company, JULES GAUTRET, was established
in 1847 in Jonzac.The firm produced and distributed Cognac
and Pineau des Charentes in France and several nearby
countries for more than a century. 

JULES GAUTRET brought their precious experience with them
when they merged with the first cooperatives in the UNICOGNAC
group in 1960.

Over 2,500 winegrowers throughout the entire Charentes region
bring their respective crops, and provide the UNICOGNAC group
with wines from various growths (Pettit Champagne, Grande Champagne,
Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Bois Ordinaires). 

This enables the Cellarmaster to choose from a wide range of Cognac
from which to make his secret blends.
